SUMMARY:Publishing Data on the Language Repository of Switzerland (LaRS)
DESCRIPTION:The Language Repository of Switzerland (LaRS) is a national platform for publishing linguistic research data\, hosted on SWISSUbase. In this workshop\, participants will gain an overview of SWISSUbase and the LaRS ecosystem\, along with essential guidance on preparing data for publication in line with the FAIR principles and the LaRS data policy. Metadata harvesting by the CLARIN Virtual Language Observatory\, which facilitates the discovery of linguistic resources across Europe\, will also be covered. The session will conclude with a practical component that walks participants through the submission interface and workflows\, enabling them to gain a clear understanding of how to publish their own data on LaRS. \n \nSpeakers: Stefanie Strebel and Christian Futter (UZH Library) \nPlease note that we need your e-mail address in order to give you access to the demo environment: 📝 Register now \nThe Zoom link will be sent to participants upon registration. \n\nDownload or watch the recording and slides of the session:\nRecording\nSlides

SUMMARY:Reusing Data for Teaching and Secondary Analyses
DESCRIPTION:How can existing linguistic data be effectively reused for teaching purposes and secondary analyses? This 90-minute workshop introduces strategies and best practices for integrating openly available linguistic datasets into university-level teaching and research. Drawing on the example of a Master’s course where students learn to build and analyze corpora using real-world data from public repositories\, the workshop will provide practical insights and tools. \nIn the workshop\, we will explore available data infrastructures (e.g.\, CLARIN resources)\, try out corpus-linguistic tools\, and collaboratively design small-scale reuse scenarios for teaching or research contexts. The session combines input\, demonstration\, and hands-on exercises – and encourages open exchange of ideas and experiences. \n \n\nSpeaker: Julia Krasselt\n\nPlease note that we need your e-mail address in order to give you access to the demo environment: \nRegister now \nThe Zoom link will be sent to participants upon registration. \n\nDownload or watch the recording and slides of the session:\nRecording\nSlides \n
