DESCRIPTION:On November 12\, 2025\, the Digital Society Initiative and the Linguistic Research Infrastructure are holding a public panel discussion on the topic: “What does and what should AI know?”. The event focuses on the frontiers and ethics of human-centred AI and will explore the implications of the growing capacity of AI systems to perceive\, interpret and simulate human emotions. \n \nThe event will take place onsite in the center of Zurich and the organizers encourage especially people working in the fields: AI\, ethics\, human-computer interaction\, policy\, education\, health\, social sciences\, or technology to  attend the panel. SUMMARY:FORS Data Live: monthly Q&A session (13th of November)
DESCRIPTION:This Q&A session held by experts from the FORS Data Managmenent and Archive Services (DMAS) is for all who want to receive help on data management\, how to navigate ethical data considerations\, or to learn more about best practices in data sharing. \n \nThe session is in English and held online via Zoom. They are returning each second Thursday of the month from 13:00 to 14:00 CEST. Participants from all social sciences are welcome. This includes fields such as: sociology\, political science\, education\, psychology\, economics\, social work and human geography. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own questions. SUMMARY:International workshop on language and language models (WoLaLa)
DESCRIPTION:The Hungarian Research Centre for Linguistics invites you to take part in the first international workshop on language and language models (WoLaLa) taking place in Budapest\, Hungary. The workshop shall be an event in which researchers discuss and evaluate large language models in the context of social sciences and humanities (SSH)\, as well as share best practices advancing research and applications within the linguistic sphere. \n \nThe workshop committee invites scholars to put forward extended abstracts as submissions. The relevant topics are: General language models\, cultural and linguistic perspectives\, applications and best practices\, and bridging disciplines. Submissions are accepted until the 30th of June 2025. Researchers that have submitted an entry will be notified of their acceptance by the 15ht of September 2025. Submissions have a chance to be granted review as full papers from the Acta Linguistica Academia. For more detailled information on the specific submission guidelines\, relevant topics\, the submission system\, or the venue\, you can check out the official website of WoLaLa 2025.
