Lia Rumantscha and SwissNLP have become the first associate members of CLARIN-CH. As associate members, both organizations will contribute in-kind support—such as data and services—without paying annual fees or holding voting rights, but they can participate in meetings and collaborative activities.

Founded in 1919, Lia Rumantscha serves as the umbrella organization for all Romansh-speaking individuals and institutions. It promotes the Romansh language and culture, coordinating efforts across regional and inter-regional bodies. As part of its strategic goals, the organization is emphasizing the FAIR data principles to support the digitization of Romansh idioms and Rumantsch Grischun.
SwissNLP, a non-profit association, promotes Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computational Linguistics, and Text Analytics across Switzerland. It connects industry experts, academics, and users through events, collaborative projects, and open datasets. Its flagship conference, the SwissText takes place yearly. It brings together NLP experts, solution providers and customers from industry and academia. This year, it will celebrate its 10th anniversary!
