The SwissNLP Expert Group Meeting explores the use of multimodality in the X-to-text pipeline. Three talks:
- Zifan Jiang (Research Scientist, Google DeepMind): converting sign language to text
- Anastasia Fadeeva (Research Engineer, Google DeepMind): From Strokes to Language — Interpreting Digital Ink, Math, and Structured Notes
- Yingqiang Gao (postdoc, UZH Department of Computational Linguistics): Audio Description Generation in the Era of LLMs and VLMs
Presentations run 17:30–19:00, followed by an Apéro downstairs at Nüü. Online participation is also available. Registration is required by end of Sunday, 18 October 2026, via the form in the SwissNLP newsletter.
