Themed “From Vision to Reality” the Zurich centre for Linguistics (LiZZ) together with the Linguistic Research Infrastructure (LiRI) are celebrating their fifth anniversary. CLARIN-CH is happy to announce this event and congratulates its technical centre on their continuing success.
On September 30, 2025, from 4pm – 7pm, in the RAA-Aula, researchers, colleagues, and collaborators are invited to experience an afternoon of insights into linguistic research and technology at UZH. The celebration event will feature project presentations from researchers who have developed innovative methods to advance their work, demonstrations of said methods, as well as poster sessions illustrating how technological developments impact linguistic research.
Seize the opportunity to get in touch with the language experts from LiRI and engage with the linguistic community up close. During the event it will be possible to: learn about current UZH research, network new connections in the linguistic community, discover gripping projects seeking participants and understand how to successfully contribute to current research.
The event will begin at 4pm when Prof. Elisabeth Stark and Prof. Guido Seiler will commence with welcome remarks. Next, Prof. Volker Dellwo will talk about highlights from LiRI, followed by Prof. Nathatlie Giroud talking about speech processing and prevention of senile dementia. Prof. Sarah Ebling will give a speech on visual language and multimodality after which Prof. Johannes Kabatek and Prof. Marianne Hundt will round-up the speeches by finishing on LiZZ and the diversity of linguistic research at UZH. From 5pm onwards, the poster session and apéro will commence.
