Call for Proposals: SRDSN Research Data Conference 2026

The Swiss Research Data Support Network is calling for proposals for its first international conference, taking place on 19 and 20 November 2026 at the Gurten in Bern. The deadline to submit is 31 May 2026.

The Swiss Research Data Support Network (SRDSN) invites proposals for its upcoming conference, Research Data in Practice: What is the State-of-the-Art?, taking place on 19 and 20 November 2026 at the Gurten in Bern.

The conference aims to bridge the gap between local operational challenges and global strategic initiatives in research data management. It brings together open research data specialists, data stewards, research software engineers, and researchers who work with research data and develop research software.

Topics

The organisers welcome contributions on best practices for support services, the professionalisation of data stewards and research software engineers, the role of artificial intelligence in data management, and the development of infrastructures that balance openness with security. Submissions are invited across eight areas: research data support in practice, research software, research data professionals, Open Science and Open Research Data, FAIR data and quality, research data infrastructures, policies and compliance and funder requirements, and artificial intelligence and data-intensive research.

Submission

Presentations (10 min), Lightning Talks (3 min), Posters (A0 format), and Workshops (60 to 120 min). Abstracts of roughly 200 to 400 words are submitted via ConfTool. The conference language is English.

Important Dates

Proposals must be submitted by Sunday, 31 May 2026.

Full details, including the complete Call for Proposals and submission guidelines, are available on the SRDSN conference page.
