The national CLARIN-CH Consortium

The Consortium CLARIN-CH was founded on 18 December 2020 by the universities of Neuchâtel, Bern, Lausanne and Zurich, the Università della Svizzera Italiana, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and the Swiss Academy for Social and Human Sciences to coordinate and support the activities of CLARIN in Switzerland.
The University of Basel joined the Consortium in May 2022.


The Consortium agreement stipulates the purpose of the Consortium, its functioning and the members' responsibilities.

Purpose and tasks:

✔️ The Consortium organizes CLARIN-CH in Switzerland.
✔️The Consortium is committed to the participation of Switzerland as an observer or full mem-ber of CLARIN ERIC and will therefore apply to the SERI for membership as soon as possible.
✔️The Consortium serves as a forum for the exchange of disciplines and research topics rele-vant to CLARIN, in particular linguistics and its research infrastructures.
✔️The Consortium supports the activities of CLARIN in Switzerland.
✔️ It maintains the exchange with DARIAH and its national organization in Switzerland.
