Sharing data in the light of the new data protection law
Date: 12 September 2023, 13:30-15:30
Organisers: FORS
In September 2023, the new Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) will become effective in Switzerland. How does it impact data sharing?
On September 12, FORS organises a symposium to familiarize participants with the new law and elaborate on its implications on empirical social science research. All information is also relevant for research with linguistic data.
Do you have questions on what data protection laws imply for your research? Are you insecure how to share your data and related research materials while respecting the legal requirements? Do you want to know where to share your data and related research materials safely? If so, then register for an online symposium on “Sharing data in the light of the new data protection law” and get the chance to ask questions.
In addition, participants will learn more about SWISSUbase, the platform for data sharing and dissemination, as well as the newly established FORS Replication Service that allows to share replication materials. The final part of the symposium will focus on the sharing and depositing of research data and related material as a good practice.
This free event will take place online and all presentations will be held in English. Register here.
