Are you interested in pursuing a career path in the research infrastructures world or in advancing your overall communication and collaboration skills? Then consider applying to the RItrainPlus summer school taking place in June and July 2024. The courses target undergraduate and graduate students, as well as PhD, early career researchers, and technicians.
RItrainPlus has been developing a series of Learning Activities to be taught as part of a university curriculum. The Learning Activities, developed and taught by RItrainPlus partners, will be delivered in the form of winter and summer schools. The applications for the summer school, taking place in June-July 2024, are now open.
The summer school will focus on multidisciplinary teamwork, communication and innovation. All the courses will be available on the University of Bologna web page in addition to the pages of the single Institution providing the materials and the resources. The courses will be taught in a hybrid format, allowing for high participation and the storage of course materials online for the future.
1๏ธโฃ Interdisciplinary work: make the team effective
Date: 10 June - 17 July 2024
Description: The programme will provide you the skills needed to manage communication within an interdisciplinary research group.
Upon the completion of the course, the students will be able to:
1๏ธโฃ explain the fundamentals of the interpersonal communication process.
2๏ธโฃ list the main aspects that can influence the efficiency of a team.

Date: 13 June - 5 July 2024
Description: The course aims to provide students with a basic understanding of how to communicate their research to different target groups, why this is necessary for good scientific practice and what can be done to achieve this. The course will introduce students to different forms of text suited for different types of science communication and provide them with an idea on what to take into account when writing materials for different purposes. Furthermore, it will introduce students to different tools and resources that are available to host their content in a persistent way and what different offerings like dedicated homepages, different content repositories and editable hubs for their research exist and provide them with the knowledge to select the correct tools for their demands.

3๏ธโฃ Innovation, entrepreneurship and engagement with industry
Date: 1 July - 3 July 2024
Description: The programme will address questions like what an invention is and understanding how to exploit and valorise entrepreneurship to innovate and increase the impact on the RI or CF on society. Furthermore, the pathways and the elements to constitute successful and sustainable relationships between industry and the facilities will be elucidated, understanding how to overcome the major barriers leveraging on the added value for a successful engagement.

The summer school is intended for university students on the undergraduate and graduate levels. Students who successfully complete all Learning Activities will be awarded a cumulative certificate of attendance attesting their competence as future managers of Research Infrastructure and Core Facilities.
